As a landscape photographer captivated by the awe-inspiring beauty of the Canadian wilderness, I was drawn to Star Lodge for a short stay in Kamloops. The room, although equipped with clean amenities and a nice shower, fell short due to the lack of attention to cleanliness in common areas. The affordable rates were appealing but did not quite align with the value offered. Its ideal location, close to various attractions and activities like fossil hunting and boating, made exploring the South Thompson River valley effortless. While the room's cleanliness left much to be desired, the beautiful balcony view of the Thompson-Okanagan scenery added a touch of serenity to our stay. With some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, Star Lodge has the potential to truly shine and become a top choice for travelers seeking both affordability and convenience in Kamloops.
